Consip has developed together with the Ministry of the Economy and Finance (MEF) many initiatives aimed at the dissemination of online work culture. This effort has dealt with support services and solutions (interoperability services, electronic signature, electronic mail and document management- personnel management solutions, planning and control systems and tools supporting decentralized offices.
The whole system required at first the development of an advanced technological ifrastructure network connecting with speed and security the MEF’s over 200 premises and its four Data Centers and providing, while guaranteeing the security and confidentiality of the information, evolved interoperability and cooperation services to the over 20,000 users of the system.
At a later stage, Consip implemented in 2007 the migration of the MEF network into the Public Connectivity System (SPC) to connect the Ministry to the other Italian Public Administrations in a single network that is homogenous in its quality, security and costs. Apart from these infrastructural projects, Consip has also developed online services, applications and solutions.
Among these:
- The “Personnel Recruitment-Receipt and Management of Examination Applications”“ project, which allows for the receipt through the Internet of all applications to partecipate in public examinations.
- The SIAP (Personnel Administration Information System), which allows MEF employees to access their personal data and forward their personal requests to the administration.
Consip has also been strongly committed to ensuring web accessibility allowing disadvantaged people to access easily on-line information. It has developed its own “Competence Center” offering technical and consultancy support both to Consip’s different units and to the MEF. The MEF portal and the extranet of the OECD (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development) have veen certified as accessible by the National Center for IT in Public Administration (CNIPA).
