Consip, the Italian Public Procurement Agency, has recently awarded the Prize on “Sustainable Projects and GPP 2010”. This is the second edition of the Prize, carried out by Consip, together with the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, with the aim of rewarding both public administrations and enterprises that have achieved important results in terms of environmental sustainability.Four awards have been assigned in the following categories: 1. Central Public Administrations: Corte dei conti (Court of Audit)2. Local Public Administrations: Province of Rimini and Municipality of Trevi (Perugia) ex aequo3. Large enterprises: Ceramiche Supergres SpA (ceramics)4. SME: Mengozzi Rifiuti Sanitari SpA (health wastes)The assessing Commission was also composed of members from the Ministry of the Environment, Ministry for Economic Development, Confindustria (entrepreneurs association) and Enea (Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Sustainable Economic Development).The large number and the quality of the applications sent from administrations and enterprises from all over the country has made it necessary to add the assignment of six honorable mentions, in addition to the four prizes.
